AGCO purchased the rights to manufacture and sell the Challenger tracked tractor and started production for the new MT Series product in 2002. Initially AGCO set up the UK Dealer network with 6 dealers of which Peacock & Binnington were one. They set up a production line in their assembly plant at Jackson, Minnesota. The engine and transmission come in directly from Caterpillar and the whole unit is assembled on the one line which produces MT 700 Series, MT 800 and MT 900 Articulated Tractors.

MT 700

The Challenger 700 Series is the industry's leading tracked tractor. Its superb pulling power, grip and balance have still not been equalled by any of the competition. With a 50/50 front to rear weight distribution set up when loaded, the overall weight of 16 tons with a ground pressure of 5.5 psi set up with Opti-Ride track suspension gives the amazing traction. The very advanced Mobil-Trac running gear with the advanced Extreme Agricultural Track is why this tractor is still the world's number one tracked tractor.

MT 800

Is the big brother to MT 700 Series. It has 4 machines in its range starting with the MT 845...473 hp 15.2 litre CAT engine to the MT 875C...610 hp 18.1 litre engine. The specification is more varied with tractors being supplied with or without linkage and power take off.

The 800 Series operate similar to the 700 Series and when first operating, one of the comments is that "apart from the bonnet size they drive just the same".

Known for their legendary reliability, superb pulling power and roadability, the MT 800 Tractor is a serious performer.
