Vintage tractor goes home at P&B Auction
A vintage Massey Ferguson 135 was bought back by its original owner at P&B Brigg this week.
First registered in April 1969 to Lincolnshire farmer Roger Patrick, the tractor was purchased from local Massey Ferguson Machinery dealers Peacock & Binnington. Put to work at Stoneybridge Farm, near Market Rasen, it was sold back to Peacock & Binnington some four years later.
"We don’t know where it went on its travels from there," said Roger Patrick, a vintage tractor enthusiast. " I recognised the registration number from the Brown & Co sale catalogue and thought we had better go and have a look." After some fierce bidding the tractor finally fell to the auctioneers hammer for £4,600 and has once again returned to Stoneybridge Farm.
The Brown & Co Collective Sale, in conjunction with P&B, attracted its usual large crowd. The highest bid went to a 2006 JCB TM300 Loadall which sold for £25,500. Other notable prices include a Case Maxxum 155 tractor which realised £15,500, a Ford 7610 tractor which made £6,800 and a Kverneland 4 furrow spring back plough which finally sold for £4,000.
There was the usual excellent range of machinery to maintain the reputation of this twice yearly event.
